During last Wednesday’s (2nd) Nintendo Direct, the Japanese gaming company revealed that the new console would feature an exclusive webcam.

The peripheral was announced alongside the new GameChat app, which will function as a kind of “Discord” for the Switch 2. Users will be able to make video calls with friends while playing games.

In addition to the standard webcam, it was also revealed that the console would receive a special edition webcam in the shape of the Piranha Plant, the iconic enemy from Super Mario platform games.

The accessory, produced by HORI, was discovered after being listed by the German retailer Media Markt for €39.99. It’s worth noting that while the product is Nintendo-licensed, the special webcam is not part of the brand’s official peripheral lineup.

If you prefer the official Nintendo camera, it will cost a bit more. In Europe, it is being sold for €59.99.
